University of Colorado’s Board of Regents tackled two flash-point issues across the state on Wednesday: guns and marijuana.
The regents pushed through a policy that allows concealed-carry permit holders to have guns in most places on the Boulder campus—with some restrictions. The revised position comes six months after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that the school couldn’t prevent permit holders from having their weapons on campus. Among places where guns are off-limits—at least for now—are ticketed events and dormitories.
Regents also approved a resolution that opposes Amendment 64, the ballot measure seeking to legalize marijuana. Boulder’s Daily Camera reported that the resolution passed 5-0, with three Democratic regents abstaining. Another Democratic regent was absent for the vote.
