If you don’t make it out of the city this weekend, head to the Pavilions for the 11th year of the Downtown Denver Arts Festival. Like the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, this gathering brings together dozens of accomplished metal workers, fiber craftsmen, and even digital visionaries for a weekend-long outdoor fair. But unlike the Cherry Creek festivities, the downtown show features only Colorado-based artists. Keep an eye out for Longmont resident Denise Labadie’s quilts (pictured here), which look like black-and-white photos, as well as the detailed ceramics of Four Corners potter Marvin Blackmore. Fri-Mon, May 22-25. Fri 4-8 p.m.; Sat 11-8 p.m.; Sun 11-5 p.m.; Mon 11-4 p.m. Denver Pavilions, 500 16th St., 303-330-8237 Free, official website
