Spotted at a recent 5280 Home party (at the Santa Fe art district’s Artwork Network in celebration of the autumn issue): a chic tablescape by Top of the Town reader’s choice winners Duet Design Group featuring simple but elegant fabric flowers.
The skilled ladies at Duet Design Group say they spent a couple of afternoons crafting the handmade baubles using scrap fabrics of varying textures. The flowers adorned a vase wrapped in spraypainted basket materials and string lights, together creating a neutral backdrop for pops of color from the bows on surrounding gift boxes and paper cranes (made from scrapbooking paper) hanging above. The finishing, oh-so-fall touch? Cinnamon potpourri emanating a subtle scent of the season from within.
Ready to make your own? The Duet Design Group turned to YouTube for fabric flower and pom-pom tutorials (also, find out how to make an origami crane).
