The words “DMV” and “easy” are rarely uttered in the same sentence—but that’s about to change. Thanks to a new service on pocketgov.com, a website launched in April 2015 that makes some government services more easily accessible, car owners in Colorado can now renew their vehicle registration online.

The City and County of Denver’s Technology Services team and the Department of Motor Vehicles partnered up to create a mobile-friendly platform where you can pay for and renew your tags from your smart phone or computer, eliminating the need to make a trip across town. In addition to registration renewal, Denverites can also use the online service to pay parking tickets, set up text message alerts about street sweepers, and search for special events in town on interactive maps.

According to Amber Miller, communications director for the Office of the Mayor, the city hopes that the offerings on pocketgov.com will help Mile High residents save time and money. “Every month we’re working to build online access to government services to make our constituents lives easier,” she says.
