Still not convinced that color is the ultimate space-changer? Let this tailored master bedroom, in which a single blast of purple on the settee awakens an otherwise quiet scene, persuade you once and for all. Designed by Ashley Campbell as part of a Greenwood Village remodel, the room reflects the homeowner’s desire for a bit of everyday elegance. “I fell in love with the fabric,” Campbell says about Madeline Weinrib’s Remy ikat fabric in lavender, “and when the client was equally enamored, it was a no-brainer that we would go big with it.” The trick, she says, was to balance its potency. So the designer kept the rest of the space calm, layering in texture through neutral elements such as the tufted Hickory Chair headboard and the subtly patterned Due Process rug. The glossy Made Goods Fiona chandelier and Vanguard Furniture nightstands add dimension without distracting from the bold love seat. It is, after all, the only exclamation point the room needs.
