To read TMZ’s account of his trial in Aspen, Charlie Sheen pretty much gamed the system with his “rock star” lawyer and got off with a slap on the wrist. On his way out of court, TMZ quoted Sheen as saying, “I’m going to Disneyland.” That’s a much better outcome for the Two and a Half Men actor than was initially reported, including the possibility of jail time in Colorado. In exchange for pleading guilty to assault for his Christmas Day argument with his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, more serious charges were withdrawn Monday, according to The Associated Press. Instead, Sheen was sentenced to 30 days in a rehab center in California, 30 days of probation, and 36 hours of anger management. Sheen seemed upbeat in court, writes People, and offered a statement after proceedings: “I’m very grateful to the court and to the people of Pitkin County. I look forward to complying with the court’s decision, getting on with my life, and putting this behind me.” Sheen is expected back on the set of his hit sitcom Tuesday for work on a new season.
