The University of Colorado at Boulder remains among the top 10 schools in Princeton Review‘s annual “Reefer Madness” listing. The school’s number six ranking on the list is down from number five last year.
The Boulder campus also is number 13 for “Lots of Hard Liquor” and number 16 for top “Party Schools”–down from number 11 in both categories last year, notes the Daily Camera. The ratings, which CU President Bruce Benson has questioned, are derived from a survey taken by 122,000 students at 373 top colleges.
One CU junior thinks the “Reefer Madness” rankings are fitting because of the 4/20 gathering among students who smoke pot and Boulder’s high number of medical-marijuana dispensaries.
Meanwhile, the topic of medical marijuana recently came up during a debate between Colorado Attorney General John Suthers and his Democratic challenger, Stan Garnett, with Suthers claiming that CU dorms have discount arrangements with some dispensaries (via The Huffington Post). A CU spokesman denies the claim.
