Concrete usually comes with a cold, industrial feel, but Wheat Ridge-based Concrete Seven is trying to change that perception. Launched in 2008 by owner Brad Weiman, the company fashions modern, not-too-pricey ($65 to $150 per square foot) alternatives to traditional countertops like laminate and granite, which aren’t as easy to modify and customize. Choose the dimensions and inlay style, and Weiman will design it, adding contemporary touches like stainless steel and wood to give each piece a personal feel. Got kids? From coffee tables to bathroom vanities, the final products are stain- and scratch-resistant. How’s that for warm and inviting?
