First-time author Dina Bennett and her car-obsessed husband left their 2,200-acre cattle ranch in Walden, Colorado, to enter a 7,800-mile vintage car race on the other side of the world: the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge. From gargantuan potholes in Russia to the coastline of the Baltic Sea, the couple’s journey is nothing if not stressful and challenging. Bennett’s comical tone in Peking to Paris (Skyhorse Publishing, May 2013) lends a balanced perspective to their struggles as she learns the importance of compromise during a real-life adventure. Ultimately, she delivers a narrative that challenges the rules of the motor rally: The race isn’t always about winning.
Meet the Author: Bennett will host a signing and reading of Peking to Paris at the Tattered Cover LoDo on Wednesday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m.
