Eighty-four years have passed since the December 5 repeal of Prohibition, and it seems safe to say that Denverites have taken full advantage of legal drinking. Our craft beer and distillery scenes are booming, and there are now bars catering to all sorts of niche markets, including hangouts for board game fanatics and even sneaker geeks. So of course, there are plenty of watering holes celebrating Repeal Day, and we’ve rounded up our three favorites below. Cheers!

Head to: The Cruise Room
For: Prohibition-era prices (first drink only)
When: Tuesday, December 5, 4:30 to 7 p.m.
The Cruise Room opened the day after Prohibition was repealed in 1933. It’s no surprise, then, that it’s offering some spirited deals. Patrons on Tuesday will be able to buy their first cocktail for 1930s prices, meaning no more than a couple of quarters. Believe it or not, for that first drink only, you cop a Tom Collins, a Sazerac, or a martini for just 35 cents and a side car or old fashioned for 50 cents. Stop here first.

Head to: Green Russell
For: Live jazz, and a ’20s- and ’30s-style costume competition
When: Tuesday, December 5, 5 p.m. to midnight.
No, you aren’t lost if you find yourself in a pie shop on your way to Green Russell. Built in the mold of the speakeasies common throughout Prohibition, which were often hidden to avoid unwanted attention, this bar resides behind Larimer Street’s Wednesday’s Pie. Once you’re in, enjoy a live performance from local jazz artist Jean-Marie Jazz (starting at 7 p.m.) and a Prohibition-themed costume party—the winner of which will win a $50 Green Russell gift card.

Head to: Black Shirt Brewing
For: Toasting Repeal Day in grandiose fashion
When: Friday, December 8, 9 p.m. to midnight
Black Shirt Brewing may not have a secret entrance, but members of BSB’s Secret Beer Society will have a password for something far better this Friday: discounted drink prices on cocktails and house wine. BSB’s first ever Repeal Day celebration includes a house deejay playing tunes from the ’20s and ’30s and era-inspired cocktails made with spirits from Bear Creek Distillery. But don’t worry, even if you’re not a member of the Secret Beer Society, you can still enjoy drink discounts—but only if you can figure out the password.
