We Denverites may be Sushi-Den-grubbing, Hi-Dive-concert-loving urban dwellers, but when the Western Stock Show comes to town, many of us tap into our inner cowgirls and -boys for a night or two.
Lucky for us, two upcoming events are easy on the pocketbook and let us all indulge the idea that we may look a bit fetching in a cowboy hat.
Tonight is the second night of PBR Bull Riding. (You can also catch it tomorrow night.) Over 90 riders are in town to compete for over $50,000 in prize money. Tickets start as low as $12; shows start at 7:30 p.m. in the Coliseum.
And my personal favorite, the PRCA Rodeo, offers a plethora of events, including bareback riding, team roping, and barrel racing. Don’t miss the mutton busting, when small children are plopped onto sheep that scramble around the arena. Tickets are just $8; the rodeo runs through January 24 at various times.
