Not only is the National Democratic Party pouring money into Colorado races, but the campaign fundraising events are going into high gear.
If you’ve never met President Bill Clinton and would like to at a small event and you can afford a donation of $1,000 (or $5,000, $10,000 or 25,000 if you want to be a VIP) here’s the deal. The former President is coming to Denver on Wednesday, November 1 for a fundraiser for 7th Congressional District Candidate Ed Perlmutter. It will be at 12:30 pm at the Oxford Hotel in Denver.
For far less money, $50, payable at the door or online at SAFER Colorado, you can attend a final push fundraiser and cocktail party for Amendment 44 on Friday, Oct. 27, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the Brown Room at the Wynkoop Brewing Company in Denver. Amendment 44 would amend Colorado law to make the private possession of up to one ounce of marijuana legal for adults 21 and older.
I had the opportunity to meet President Clinton in New York last month as part of his outreach to bloggers. He is one of the most charismatic people you will ever meet. But the $50 for Amendment 44 is more in my price range.
