Josie Sexton

Josie Sexton is a contributor to 5280, where she covers topics ranging from gardening to home goods to dining destinations. In her nine-to-five, she works as a special projects editor for Virtuoso, the Magazine. Prior to this, she was the Denver Post’s food reporter and the editor of Eater Denver.

Josie grew up in Ohio and studied Spanish and international relations at The Ohio State University. She lived in Spain from 2010 to 2013 before finding home on Colorado’s Front Range. In 2022, she completed her master’s degree with Middlebury’s Bread Loaf School of English, and though she did not perfect her sourdough recipe while there, she did earn an MA in English literature with an emphasis on place-based storytelling. These days, when not traveling, she’s scouring flea markets and renovating a 1900 Denver square with her husband.
