MOVIE On Saturday at 8 p.m., Denver’s local winemaker, Balistreri Vineyards, shows Il Postino. The loveable Italian movie, about a fisherman-turned-postman who befriends the exiled Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, won five Best Foreign Language Film awards and an Oscar for Best Original Dramatic Score. As if the movie weren’t enough, Balistreri also lays out a spread of wine, bruschetta, and gelato. Balistreri Vineyards is at 1946 E. 66th Ave. Tickets are $35. For more information, call 303-287-5156 or visit www.balistreriwine.com. RACE New Belgium’s Urban Assault Ride is on Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Mile High Station, 2027 W. Lower Colfax Ave. It’s a bike scavenger hunt where only the shortest route to the finish matters, and checkpoints along the way pose obstacles like bike jousting and stilt races. Cold beer, spicy fajitas, and live music pump up the after-party. Cost is $60. For more information, visit www.urbanassaultride.com.
