When LoHi SteakBar opened its doors at the end of June, local diners rejoiced: Chef Sean Kelly (of Aubergine, Clair de Lune, and Somethin’ Else), was back in the kitchen. This time he’s partnered with Joe Vostrejs and the Larimer Associates crew, who are opening up restaurants left and right in northwest Denver. (Think the refabbed Billy’s Inn, Tocabe, LoHi, and soon, a pizza spot in the old 3 Sons space.)
Check out the menu and you’ll immediately spot a few of Kelly’s signature dishes, including the insanely creamy hummus, cozy blue cheese fondue served with potato chips, and the addictive rosemary almonds (now paired with marinated olives). Order and celebrate their return.
As a whole, the menu is casual and family-friendly, with a few “chefy” items—like potted salmon spread and gnudi—dotting the menu. Don’t miss the roasted, local, half-chicken with agave nectar and lime. The dish is executed perfectly, with crisped and golden skin, tender meat, and a pile of fries. And it’s only $12.
