MUSIC: END-OF-SUMMER BLUES
Sure, you’ve got Oktoberfest in Larimer Square this weekend, and you’ve got John Mayer at Red Rocks on Monday and Tuesday. You’ve also got a seriously shrinking window of summer playtime in the mountains… So here’s an idea instead: Hit all three in one place at the 13th annual Telluride Blues and Brews Festival, where you can catch up with John Mayer, sample from 55 microbreweries, and soak up the last of the summer sun in the Rockies. Really, it’s a win-win-win situation. For three days, world-renowned musicians such as Mayer, Lou Reed, and Bruce Hornsby will take over the mountain haven, including late-night groove sessions in local juke joints. Beer, music, mountains. If that doesn’t sound like a summer’s end celebration…Well, it does. So go. Fri 3 p.m.Sun 10 p.m. Telluride. $50/single day pass; $140/three-day pass. For more information or tickets, call 866-515-6166 or visit www.tellurideblues.com.
