Asuka Sasaki’s eye for beauty has taken her far in the world of ballet—the Nagano, Japan, native became a principal dancer at the Colorado Ballet in 2017; perhaps you know her as Clara or the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker—but it also fuels a passion for interior design, which she enthusiastically explores around town. “Denver has so many unique restaurants that have their own styles and designs,” she says. “Every time I go out, I find inspiration for my own home”—which leads to some pretty impressive design moves of her own. Case in point: this charming heirloom piece. “I love my antique desk, which I have converted into a bar,” she says. “It was passed down to me and my husband from his family, and we keep it in our formal entryway, where it holds all of our wine glasses and gifted liquor bottles. Right now, a favorite is a rum that we brought back from a trip to Cuba.”
