A few weeks ago, Walker Fine Art unveiled its Signature Show, a collection of new work by prolific Denver artist Roland Bernier. The 77-year-old Bernier, via shows at the Denver Art Museum and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, has established himself as an innovative word artist, and Signature Show is the latest evolution of his work. In this exhibition in the sprawling Golden Triangle space, instead of stringing together several provocative words to make visual statements–as he did in his 2007 and 2008 Walker shows–Bernier simply sets his last name atop images of the dollar bill or places it at the bottom of a handmade frame. His intention, like that of many post-modernists, is to draw attention to everyday objects–in this case, through clean silkscreens and bright, photocopied images Signature Show, through May 23. Tue-Sat 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Free Walker Fine Art, 300 W. 11th Ave., 303-355-8955
