“Let your fingers do the walking” may become a thing of the past, at least with respect to Denver government agencies. Dial 311 is now activated:
As of today, Denver residents no longer will have to fumble through a telephone book squinting at the government listings if they’ve got a gripe they want to register with a city agency. The city plans to debut its 311 call center at 6 a.m. The new system allows city residents to access any city agency by dialing 311. The nonemergency number was a top priority of Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper’s. He touted it as a way to make the public sector more responsive to city residents.
