Fans who’ve stuck with the Colorado Rockies since the early 1990s have been waiting a long time for a team like the current one. After winning both games in yesterday’s doubleheader against the New York Mets, the Rockies are 10-2 on the year and own the best record in baseball. Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki continues to lead the way, hitting home runs during both games yesterday (scores: 6-5, 9-4; recaps via Purple Row). Tulo now has seven home runs on the year, sending them deep in his last four games for a total of 22 in his last 40 games (Denver Post).

The Rox host the Chicago Cubs this weekend, and CBS Sports‘ game preview paints the picture of a surging team (the Rockies) taking on a mediocre franchise that’ll put a struggling pitcher on the mound in the first game. That won’t prevent the Cubs faithful from coming out to Coors Field, however; the team has fans wherever it goes.
