We can’t imagine a better way to start a sweltering summer day than with a cold glass of juice poured from this flawless ceramic pitcher by Matthew Levi Jorgensen. The seasoned Denver potter—and namesake of Jorgensen Stoneware—sculpts and fires all his pieces in a small Park Hill studio, where he’s cultivated a design style that feels right at home in the Mile High City. “I would describe my work as having a modernist, folk aesthetic,” Jorgensen says. “I’m often trying to bridge these two facets of influence into a unified whole.” We’ll take a refill.
Tall pitcher ($120), serving bowl ($120), and coffee mugs ($30 each). Similar pieces available at Hazel & Dewey; Ironwood; and Beet & Yarrow. Find more pieces July 3 to 5 at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival.
