Bug-A-Boo | October 18–31
Creepy-crawlies make a perfect backdrop for trick or treating. Join the Butterfly Pavilion at Bug-A-Boo, a safe, socially distanced, indoor trick-or-treating experience perfect for toddlers. The pavilion will also be transforming their interactive exhibit, Colorado Backyard, into a spooky Halloween adventure. Spooktacular Brew Run | October 24
Love Halloween, beer, and running? Sign up for the Spooktacular Brew Run where you can dress up, run a 5K, and drink a LandLocked Ales brew—included in admission—all for a good cause. A portion of each entry will be donated to Epic Experience, a charity that organizes adventure camps for individuals fighting cancer. Boo at the Bridge | October 24
Ever wanted to cross the highest suspension bridge in the United States at night? On October 24, you can. Get dressed up and head over to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park for a spooktacular Halloween event. Collect candy passed out by local businesses and nonprofits and test your fear of heights while enjoying one of Colorado’s most unique landmarks. Union Station events | October 24, 31
Whether it’s carving a pumpkin while casually sipping on cocktails, taking part in a Halloween parade with your furry friends, or getting dressed up for the inaugural Maskerade, Union Station has an array of events to suit your spooky style. Carving & Cocktails will take place on October 24 at 3.p.m; tickets are $30 per person and include one pumpkin, one cocktail, and all the carving necessities. If that’s not your thing, dress up your pup for a Howl-a-Ween Pet Parade on October 31 at 1 p.m. That same night, get dolled up and enjoy cocktails and light bites at the Coopers Lounge’s Maskerade; tickets are $80 and available for purchase online (this event is 21+).
Improv Scarytelling | October 25
Scary storytelling is always fun, especially on Halloween. Zoom in to a virtual improvisational horror storytelling event presented by the Denver Horror Collective. Grab a blanket, turn off the lights, and get spooked by over a dozen of Colorado’s emerging horror writers as they spin three original horror tales—round-robin style—on the spot. Tickets are $5–10 and can be purchased online.
This Halloween will feature a rare blue moon, and what better way to set the mood than by booking a stay on the 13th floor of the Curtis, which is decked out with decor, lighting, and artwork that reference some infamous scary movies. Take it one step further and book the hyper-themed Ghostbusters Suite, complete with “Slimer Green” flooring. Bonus: If you check into the Curtis in costume on Halloween, you’ll receive a prize ranging from a complimentary room upgrade to a free drink from the Corner Office. 1405 Curtis St.
Spookadelia 3: Back to the Source | Through November 30
Scavenger haunt meets immersive art at Spectra Art Space for its third installment of this psychedelic experience. Solve a puzzle as you move through the neon jungle to “free the Crone.” While spooky, this event is considered family-friendly. Tickets are $15–30 and must be booked by private parties online. 1836 S Broadway
Haunted Houses
Halloween isn’t officially over unless you visit at least one haunted house. Get your (masked) scream on at one of Denver’s top-ranked haunted houses now open with restrictions and social distancing practices. All haunted houses require timed-slot reservations in advance, ticket prices vary.
