Peach Peelin’ Party | August 14
Beer lovers can have a hand in making a special brew at this sweet fête. To make its popular That’s Just Peachy saison, Luki Brewery requires pounds and pounds of Palisade peaches. That’s where you come in: In exchange for prep help—you can blanch, cut, or package the peaches—you’ll get 10 percent off of your tab, free grilled peaches, a crowler of That’s Just Peachy when it’s released on September 3, and you can brag to your friends that you helped make the suds. 14715 W. 64th Ave., Arvada; 11 a.m.–1 p.m.; Register here.
Boreas Pass Railroad Day | August 21
Some 130 years ago, the town of Como was a locomotive hub. Though the last train ran through Como in 1939, many of its historic buildings still stand—and Coloradans can see and learn more about them during this educational experience. In addition to live train demonstrations, visitors can explore the town’s Roundhouse (built in 1881) and hear live music from Denver Brass. Broadway & Rowe St., Como; 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
