Gritogether: Micro Food Festival and Culinary Competition
Sometimes it feels like rice, corn, and wheat are the only grains that get the glory. Hell’s Kitchen and Chopped contestant Cody Candelario is trying to change that with this fest paying homage to farro, an ancient grain high in protein and fiber. Local chefs, including Bar Dough’s Stefy DeVita and Food Network star DeAndre Smith, will battle to create the best farro-forward dish, which attendees will choose while listening to live tunes provided by Hundred Pound Housecat at Lyons Farmette. Nov. 16; 6–10 p.m.; $90
