Update: SugarMill, Troy Guard’s RiNo eatery, will be closed as of the end of brunch service on Sunday, May 28. Guard will be using the vacant space to expand Los Chingones, which is located in the adjacent storefront.
If you’re a fan of Lucky Cat‘s modern Chinese fare—the tilapia bao buns! the dan dan noodles!—then you should make a point of heading there before the weekend is out: After service on Saturday, May 13, Lucky Cat will be closed.
That's only $1 per issue!
Troy Guard, chef/owner of TAG Restaurant Group, made the announcement this morning, saying that the concept simply wasn’t performing to his standards.
The closing leaves Guard with seven restaurant concepts (some with multiple locations), including the group’s flagship, TAG, which will celebrate it’s eighth anniversary at the end of the month. But no dust settles on Guard: This summer, he’s opening a third location of Los Chingones in the super-hot Eastbridge Town Center in Stapleton, as well as two new concepts. Hashtag, also in Eastbridge, will be a breakfast spot and FNG, in the Highlands, will focus on wood-fire comfort food. Onward!
