Every summer, photographers of all levels flock to the sunflower fields near DIA to capture that perfect golden sunset. Last year, the fields lasted well into mid-fall, but this year, the blooms are wilting early due to the heat and lack of rainfall. According to the National Sunflower Association, while the flowers are drought tolerant, they still need moisture, especially around flowering. Don’t wait until next season to catch a glimpse: Head to the fields (off Tower Road) before summer ends.
