More than 20 percent of Coloradans suffer from arthritis (joint inflammation that can cause pain and stiffness). While the state’s low humidity and (normally) lack of consistent rain can improve symptoms, our residents’ high levels of physical activity can often worsen the condition.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, arthritis is the most common cause of disability in America. While the condition isn’t 100 percent preventable, there are ways to manage it. The CDC has created some infographics to help you more easily understand arthritis, its causes, and ways to ease its effects.
