- Why you should go: There’s no better excuse to wear every bit of green clothing you own than this annual parade, but we know that the, er, exuberant crowds aren’t for everyone. If you prefer, stay home and start researching the teams you’ll pick for your March Madness bracket, which is released on March 15. This could be the year you win the office tourney.

9. Cheer: Leadville’s 66th Annual Ski Joring and Crystal Carnival
- Why you should go: There are plenty of free events during this festival, but we’re partial to watching the skiers pulled down the street by horseback riders.

- Why you should go: Obsessed with the Underwoods? Watch the entire third season in one day—with a crowd.
