Fly-Fishing Film Tour at Stranahan’s
Before fly-fishing season ramps up, get stoked with this special screening of the Fly Fishing Film Tour—an annual roadshow that brings together the best of the sport’s, ahem, reels. In addition to watching the films, you’ll get to chat with other anglers, enter a raffle, and sip a cocktail or two made with Stranahan’s spirits. April 21; 6:30 p.m.; $28
Women+Film Festival
Though the stories and genres of the movies in this festival vary widely, they all share one trait: They were made by women. At this year’s female-centric film fest, hosted by DenverFilm, catch the documentary One in a Million, which follows Syrian refugee Israa as she seeks asylum in Germany; Horsegirls, a narrative drama about a 22-year-old woman with autism who discovers hobby horse dancing; and Cookie Queens, a surprisingly layered documentary about the highs and lows of Girl Scout Cookie season. April 24–26; times vary; passes $75–$85
La Primavera Festival
Celebrate Spring like they did in medieval Europe during this festival at the Museum of Outdoor Arts’ Marjorie Park. Families can weave their own flower crowns, learn Maypole folk dancing, listen to live music, and participate in an art-themed scavenger hunt. Each adult ticket also includes three cocktails or bar/concession items. April 25; 11 a.m.–3 p.m.; $18-$34
Governor’s Art Show and Sale

Colorado isn’t just home to world-class skiers, climbers, and mountaineers—the state houses some exceptional artists as well. See for yourself at this annual show that features the work of 65 hand-selected Centennial State creatives at the Loveland Museum. Be among the first to see the exhibit at the opening-night gala, or opt to peruse the exhibition independently before it closes on June 6. Look for Lorri Acott’s bronze figurative sculptures, Crystal DeSpain’s Western-themed oil paintings, and J.R. Hess’ hyperrealistic wildlife pastels. The art will also be available for purchase online. April 25–June 6; times vary; $7–$10
Mile High Asian Food Week

From a mango sticky rice acai bowl to pork belly fried rice to a mapo tofu walking taco, you’ll need all week to eat your way through the delicacies included in this annual celebration of Asian cuisine. Dozens of Asian American–owned eateries will offer up special menu items (check out Lilac Coffee’s Korean Cereal Latte), discounts (including 40 percent off at Kokoro on its 40th anniversary), and prix-fixe menus. April 26–May 3; times vary; prices vary
Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival
If you’ve paced Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall in the springtime, you’ve no doubt noticed the vibrant tulips filling the flower boxes. This warm-weather tradition celebrates the start of the season with live music performances (including kid-favorite duo Jeff & Paige); parades down the pedestrian mall with the Tulip Fairy Queen and Boulder Ballet dancers; and plenty of children’s activities, including foam-sword dueling, running on a giant hamster wheel, and fairy-inspired science experiments. April 26; 1–5 p.m.; free attendance
