Spuntino’s Popsicles

June 2011

Spuntino, 2639 W. 32nd Ave., 303-433-0949, spuntinodenver.com “You can put pretty much anything in a popsicle and it’ll taste good,” says Dorina Miller, co-owner of Spuntino, a five-month-old Italian cafe in Highland. Taste nontraditional flavors like the roasted red pepper, basil, and balsamic pop, or another made of juiced celery and lime, and you’ll agree. Thanks to their super special popsicle machine, Miller and co-owner Simone Parisi turn out smooth, gourmet treats that bear little resemblance to the icy sticks in your freezer. That’s because this contraption freezes everything in just 18 minutes, which leaves no time for those unappetizing ice crystals to form.
