The traditional fifth anniversary gift is wood—which is appropriate for Mirada Fine Art Gallery, which is housed in a log cabin originally built in the 1920s. The welcoming (hello, stone fireplace) contemporary gallery focuses on works infused with the spirit of Colorado and the southwest. An unexpected location in the Indian Hills Trading Post, about 20 miles southwest of downtown Denver, hasn’t stopped Mirada from picking up accolades, including being named the best gallery in Colorado in 2014 by the American Art Awards.
Celebrate this local artistic gem during the venue’s fifth anniversary party on Saturday, December 6. From 6 to 9 p.m., view colorful abstract paintings by Javier López Barbosa and textural mixed media works by Tom Matucci—both new to Mirada—as you balance hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine in your hands. Live music will set the soundtrack.
