Home-tour season is upon us, and whether you’re searching for inspiration, a design pro for your next project, or just some really good architecture-peeping, you’ll find plenty to love on the Modern Architecture + Design Society’s 2018 Modern Home Tour.
The self-guided tour, which takes place on Saturday, May 19, includes five modern homes located throughout the metro area. The lineup includes a brand-new, midcentury-modern-inspired ranch in Columbine Valley, designed by New Century Modern; a Sloan’s Lake residence that Davis Urban transformed from a 1960s ranch-style home into a midcentury-modernized gem; and a Habitat for Humanity home in Curtis Park that Design Platform reimagined with a gut renovation and addition.
The homes will be open for viewing from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., and the regional architects, designers, and builders behind each one will be on hand to share their work and answer your most pressing design questions. Tickets (which cover all homes) are $40 in advance online, or $50 on the day of the tour. Proceeds will benefit the local nonprofit Dream Culture USA, which provides local families with unique educational opportunities, as well as a scholarship fund to help future architects and designers further their education.
